Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon discovered the project Family Dance in Barcelona. The initiator, Juan Eduardo Lopez, encouraged them to direct a workshop which would incorporate parents and children from the age of 5 to 10 years. This experience was a challenge to the two choreographers who then decided to start the project in Geneva. Since 2010, they have then developed such project, in connection with the municipalities.
The objective is to propose an encounter between professionals, parents and children in the field of dance. The act of touch, carry, embrace in an artistic setting with the advice of experts in movement represent the orientation to establish new links between children and their parents. During the two hours of exchange, the parents and their children become aware of a new complicity. Following the workshop the experience is not just a memory, but this awareness of the body accompanies the children and the parents through a very intimate journey.
Starting 2015, +Dense will provide coordination for the project in collaboration with Service de la Culture de Meyrin and Maison de Vaudagne.
